Wild Rabbit Publishing - lists itself as an Independent company, as it is not associated with any of the tree publishing companies. We have two goals we want to achieve with our company. First, as a company that makes quality E-books. Recent experiences with E-books suggests that the tree publishers do not take the time to prepare and format their documents for conversion to the E-book format for specific applications. Also, independent authors do not seem to have the knowledge to prepare and format their books to E-book formats. It also appears that many independent authors do not have a very good editing system in place. Our goal is to provide the necessary services to make your E-book look and feel great. We provided editing and proofing services and finally quality conversion to E-book formats such as Kindle and Nook. At the present time we have the Kindle formatting achieved and an outlet on Amazon.com as an authorized publisher. We are looking to expand with the necessary software and publisher space on Barnes and Noble, and hope to have this in place by mid-summer 2011. But why E-books? That provides us with our second goal, to provide a green format for our services. No wasted paper, no contaminants as by-products. No product to waste on the shelves if it doesn't sell. And no product to dispose of at the end of it's life cycle. The self publishing companies and publishing on demand companies produce poorly bound copies unless you go for the more expensive vanity publishers. Shipping charges to the consumer are beginning to make a difference in whether a consumer purchases a gently used and cheaper book, or a brand new book that counts towards the authors actual sales. E-books provide an alternative for the author, the publisher and the consumer. Being green doesn't hurt. Kindle has surpassed and surprised the publishing market. Sales of the Kindle device have surprised the industry, and the ability of the machine to instantly download a chosen publication to the consumers home has revolutionized the way the industry is going to do business in the future. No more shipping charges, so the consumer can choose to buy direct from the author or the publisher. No yellowing and brittle pages, so the book will remain with the consumer. Amazon keeps records of which books the consumer purchases, and can replace them when the consumer upgrades or if the Kindle is lost, damaged or destroyed. The consumer now has peace of mind with the security of his purchases. And finally, the author has control over their product. While the resale of older titles has never been an area of concern with authors or publishers, in the ever tightening market of publishers payments for rights and royalties, resale of used books can be seen as cutting into sales. Wild Rabbit sees the future, and the future will include an ever growing demand for E-book products. We would like to help you realize this future as well.
